TWR Supercat Revealed

TWR Supercat Revealed

TWR’s remarkable restomod of the classic Jaguar XJS is released this week and features four of our JW Speaker Evolution headlamps.

TWR Performance - co-owned by Fergus Walkinshaw and John Kane - this week unveiled it's debut car the Supercat. TWR have collaborated with industry powerhouses Magnus Walker and Khyzyl Saleem to breathe life into the esteemed Tom Walkinshaw Racing epithet.

Staying true to their heritage, their new Supercat is “a modern take on the Jaguar XJS”

TWR  has a long and successful relationship with Jaguar, starting in 1982 when Jaguar approached TWR to develop the Jaguar XJS for the European Touring Car Championship.

Their TWR Supercat is a remarkable restomod of the classic Jaguar XJS, with a radical redesign by Khysyl Saleem who was inspired by the 70s and 80s era of the Trans-Am and the original design of the Jaguar XJR-9, XJR-15 and XJ220.

The design called for four of our JW Speaker 8631 Evolution headlights per vehicle, with both left and right hand options to suit customers all over the world.

The light incorporates both high and low beam headlights with indicator lights, front position and daylight running lights. They can be fitted to any vehicle that calls for a 5.75” (PAR46) light, from motorcycles to off-road vehicles to classic cars.

They fit seamlessly with the style of the vehicle; providing a mix of traditional styles with modern capabilities.

The Supercat boasts a design defined by its more aggressive styling, carbon fibre enhancements, and a widened stance. The aerodynamic package, meticulously refined by a former Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 aerodynamicist, features striking flying buttresses, integrated splitters, side-exit exhausts, and a flat floor. The interior seamlessly blends classic and modern touches, including new leather trim, a digital instrument panel, and an Alpine touch screen with Apple CarPlay.

They use an original 5.3l V12 engine, but have modified it significantly to increase it's capacity to 5.6l and produce power figure of over 650bhp, a redline of 7,750rpm and over 700Nm [516lb ft] of torque according to Fergus Walkinshaw, co-founder and lead engineer, and son of Tom who first founded TWR back in 1976.
