Blind spots are implicated in more than 1,000 accidents every year in the UK according to the AA.
They are a danger in all vehicles, but can be especially troublesome in vans. Without a rear-view mirror or back window, the blind spots are much larger. The bigger your van, the bigger the blind spot, and the greater the danger if the vehicle is involved in an accident.
Thanks to increases in technology, many vans come with additional equipment to negate these risks.
Mercedes have added a blind spot motion sensor to their Sprinter vans. The pack includes two blind spot sensors to be installed at the rear of the vehicle, two brackets, two covers, screws and a harness interface in the driver seat box.
A wiring harness is required to connect the blind spot sensors to the main power circuit of the vehicle. What the pack doesn’t include, however, is a harness to connect the sensors to the main power harness of the vehicle.
Our harnesses offer some of the highest quality on the market. All of our cable connections are overmoulded to ensure a sturdy, long lasting and reliable connection that’s water resistant to IP67.
Our plug and play design means the harness can be installed in just three clicks – connecting the two blind spot sensors and the bodybuilder’s plug. No additional tools or specialist knowledge are required to be able to fit the harness, freeing up skilled workers time.
